Méribel

Méribel is one of the most iconic ski destinations in the French Alps, renowned for its beautiful chalets and hotels, excellent dining, vibrant après ski, and of course, world class skiing across the Three Valleys. Known as the heart of the Three Valleys, Méribel is the perfect base to access the whole ski area with it being just one lift over to Courchevel or three lifts over to Val Thorens.

Snow-covered mountains and a village of wooden houses with snow-covered roofs in a winter landscape.
A snowy mountain village with numerous chalet-style buildings, surrounded by snow-covered trees and mountains in the background, under a clear blue sky.

Skiing in Méribel
Offering direct access to the largest connected ski domain in the whole world, Méribel offers the perfect base for your luxury ski holiday. The slopes in and around Meribel itself are varied, with many routes heading back to the centre for skiers of all abilities. Beginners will love the Golf area near the Méribel Altiport which offers wide open pistes and beautiful views down towards Méribel Village. For those who like to follow the sun, ski the Tougnete side in the morning and move across to Saulire in the afternoon. This is ideal for maximising sunshine and it also conveniently places you near La Folie Douce just in time for apres ski.

Village Life and Activities
While the skiing is the main draw, Méribel’s charm extends far beyond the slopes. Set amidst alpine forests and built in traditional Savoyard style, it is one of the most picturesque ski resorts in France. Wooden chalets with stone facades line the streets, giving the village a warm, authentic mountain feel. Off the mountain, visitors can explore stylish boutiques, cosy cafés, and excellent restaurants, or unwind with a rejuvenating spa day at Hotel Le Kaila or Hotel Le Coucou.

Dining and Après Ski
Food is a highlight of any stay in Madonna di Campiglio, with a strong emphasis on Trentino and Tyrolean flavours complemented by high-end gastronomy. Despite its mountain setting, the resort boasts several Michelin starred restaurants, where traditional recipes are reimagined with modern creativity. Après ski here strikes a lively yet refined balance. Popular spots at the foot of the slopes provide a vibrant start to the evening, while the village centre offers a mix of wine bars, restaurants and live music venues for a more relaxed atmosphere. It is worth noting that Méribel is not a single village but a collection of smaller hamlets, each with its own distinct character and appeal, however you will find Méribel Centre at its heart. This is where you will find he tourist office, a variety of boutiques, restaurants, and sports shops, as well as convenient access to the lifts from the resort’s main central plaza “La Chaudanne”.

Après Ski
Méribel’s apres ski scene is every bit as celebrated as its skiing. For lively, piste side parties, La Folie Douce is an unmissable stop, while Le Rond Point (known affectionately as The Ronnie) and Jack’s Bar are adored for their energetic atmosphere and ski boot dancing.
