Situated at 1,236 metres, Ortisei links with nearby Selva and Santa Cristina to form part of the renowned Val Gardena ski area. This section of the Dolomites has earned recognition as Italy’s top ski resort at the World Ski Awards for multiple consecutive years. From Ortisei, skiers can explore around 175km of pistes across Val Gardena and Alpe di Siusi, with terrain suited to all abilities. Beginners and families will enjoy the wide, gentle slopes of Alpe di Siusi, while intermediate and advanced skiers can venture further across the valley for more challenging runs. The surrounding UNESCO-listed Dolomites provide a spectacular backdrop, with dramatic views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks. With a Dolomiti Superski pass, access extends even further to approximately 500km of interconnected runs. Ortisei is also perfectly positioned for the famous Sella Ronda circuit, linking Alta Badia, Arabba-Marmolada and Val di Fassa. This iconic loop offers varied terrain for all levels, along with numerous mountain restaurants to enjoy along the way.

Village and Lifestyle
The resort is known for its stylish yet welcoming character, with a strong sense of tradition running throughout. Its pedestrianised centre is ideal for strolling, showcasing charming alpine architecture alongside a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Ortisei has plenty to offer non-skiers as well. Visitors can explore local heritage at the Museum Gherdëina or take part in a wide range of winter activities, including tobogganing, sleigh rides, snowshoe hiking, ice skating, ziplining and paragliding. Cross-country skiing is also popular, with around 80km of trails available throughout Val Gardena.

Dining and Après Ski

Notable options include the refined cuisine at Restaurant Tubladel and the Michelin starred Anna Stuben, widely regarded as one of the top dining spots in the region. Après ski in Ortisei ranges from lively to laid-back. For a more energetic atmosphere, Siglu near the Ortisei–Alpe di Siusi gondola is a popular choice.
